Meet the Founder
Libbie graduated from the Gemological Institute of America in 2011 as a certified graduate gemologist. GIA’s graduate gemologists undergo rigorous training in evaluating gemstones by the 4Cs, the International Diamond Grading System, and the Colored Stone Grading System. Libbie is fully qualified to grade diamonds, evaluate gemstone quality, and predict the effects of the market on gemstone value. She has over ten years of experience in the jewelry industry.
She’s the translator between client, jeweler, & designer.
From its formation deep in the earth to its placement in a piece of jewelry, a diamond, a sapphire, a ruby have all been on a long journey. They’re sold, bought, cut, shined, gifted, lost, found again – all part of a rich tapestry of family lore. Libbie has always loved being even a small part of that story.
Her first education in the industry was working with her mother in buying, curating, and selling jewelry. In college, she made custom beaded pieces and charms for friends and family. She went on to study gems at the Gemological Institute of America and ended up working in high-end jewelry sales. Having met her husband at sleep away camp at the age of 15, Libbie is a lover of romance. Combining that passion with her talent for jewelry and gems, she’s excited to help clients make their ideal pieces a reality.
Libbie makes an overwhelming process a whole lot easier by getting down and dirty so you don’t have to.
Libbie’s main offerings include engagment and wedding band ring consultations for women and men, proposal plannings for that unforgettable moment in life, and consultations for reinventing or redesigning a piece of jewelry you already own. By Libbie also offers half or full day field trips where Libbie will guide you through the diamond district in Manhattan, and help you find exactly what you are looking for at unbeatable prices.
